Frank Schanzenbach Johnson Page Notes about Frank .

Frank Schanzenbach Johnson

This photo of Frank was made shortly after his mother Louisa died in 1907. This Photo seems out of character compared to others of the family and of that time, and is assumed to have been part of an advertisement campage to find a new wife (Clara Agnes Day - Brown - Schanzenbach - Johnson) for Eugene Sr. Judgeing by Eugene Jr. age, this was probably made early in 1909.

Frank was born in 1901in the farm house in Glenco Ok. (which is still standing) and died in 1956 in Shawnee. He is buried along with his father, brothers Joe, Tony, Alfonse, Eugene and Bill in Calvery Cemtary in Shawnee FrankInjured working for ?? Oil Co. pipeline screwing pipe together about 193?.
Company settled by giving him a job-for-life.
He settled, then found out the job was digging holes for toilets for work yards. He quit soon after this. -Corkey
Toots Schwegman says he was a nice guy, laid back without a gift-of-gab like some of his brothers. Would kill dress and sell rabbits to toots for $.25 each.
Charley Unzner told me Frank went hunting with 20 shells and came home with 21 rabbits. Others around Shawnee said Frank was one of a few men who could trap mink.
He was known to invest in small oil ventures.
Good hunter. Nuts about his wife Hazel, very hard for him to get over her leaving him.. Had been mechanic and worked for Shorty Reid. He ived in early 50's above Hawk auto supply in Shawnee, lived in one apartment, through trash in next door appt.
Then lived in attic room of Bill and Lorene House. Stopped drinking and helped take care of Cathy when she was born till age 3.
